If you have been stopping by here for awhile, you know that the entire purpose of creating my faux fireplace was to have a mantle to decorate.
I change my mantle vignettes about once a month, and because I change it so often, I forget to take pictures. And when I do take pictures, I forget to share them. So, I am going to show you what is on my mantle today, along with a few of the mantles over the last couple of months.
After Christmas, I like a very clean mantle. Not too much fuss. Not too much color.
Very simple. It helps the room feel calm amidst the Christmas clutter, which is FINALLY all gone.
This is another, simple vignette for winter that is in my kitchen.
This mantle is from last summer.
This one was for October.
Yes, those are tree branches on my mantle. The kids carried them on our walk home from school, and I decided to use them. The kids thought it was awesome. Not sure everyone else thought it was so great...;)
And apparently, I didn't take many pictures of my Christmas mantle this year (which I LOVED!!!!). The only ones I can find are the pics from when our elves hung our undies on the mantle, and I am a touch embarrassed to show you! But, eh, we all have undies. Take a look!
Notice that I left the wood, mirror, and wreath from Christmas. I added some of my white pitchers, and it was the fastest and easiest mantle I have every done!
I am currently working on some pieces that will go on my February mantle, and I hope to be able to show you one of my projects tomorrow! If you follow HBK on Facebook, you got a sneak peek this morning!
Wallpaper update: While I was hoping to start painting this week, I am still prepping the walls. I cleaned and sanded the walls, and they felt so smooth! However, I painted a few test spots, and there was still quite a bit of glue that was balling up from the paint. Ugh. So, I am still cleaning them. I hope to finish cleaning them today and finally start painting next week. I'll keep you posted!
Stay warm today--it looks like it is "cold" pretty much everywhere! Enjoy the Son!
